| סיכום: | This study evaluated the impact of citizen participation in local development projects of the Municipal Government of Quevedo in 2023. The research was justified by the need to strengthen citizen participation to ensure the success and sustainability of projects, aligning them with the real needs of the community. The methodology combined qualitative and quantitative approaches, including explanatory, descriptive and exploratory research. Inductive, deductive and historical-logical methods were used. The study population included the president of the local cantonal assembly, presidents of urban and rural parishes, and citizens of Quevedo. A finite population formula was applied to obtain a sample of 384 citizens. Research techniques included on-site visits, interviews and surveys. Instruments used included documented records, question forms and discussion guides. Data analysis was conducted using R-Studio software. The findings revealed a disconnect between the GAD and the needs of the community, with 61% citizen dissatisfaction. Lack of information (53%) and dissatisfaction with the use of resources (54%) were key obstacles. The results of the research made it possible to evaluate citizen participation in social and economic aspects and its benefit in project implementation. It was concluded that, although participation mechanisms existed, they did not function optimally and there was a lack of communication between citizens and the GAD. |
