Description
Summary:Resilience is a determining factor in the academic performance of students in socio- economic vulnerability contexts. This research aimed to analyze the influence of resilience on academic performance among high school students at the 18 de Octubre Educational Institution in Quevedo, Ecuador. A mixed approach was used, combining quantitative and qualitative methods, including expert research, teacher surveys, and student interviews. The results showed that students with higher resilience better faced academic and emotional challenges, while those with lower resilience experienced difficulties in their school performance. It was identified that resilience is a key factor in overcoming adversities and improving academic performance, especially in poverty contexts. It was found that family and social support, as well as a motivating educational environment, are essential for fostering resilience. The conclusions indicated that implementing psycho-pedagogical strategies that promote resilience can significantly improve students' academic performance and emotional well-being. Additionally, the need to generate a mixed psycho-pedagogical intervention proposal was proposed to improve educational quality and equity in access to knowledge. The research provided evidence on the importance of resilience in academic success and proposed interventions that could be applied in similar institutions.
