Sumario:In Ecuador the soy producing areas are located in the upper and lower part of the Guayas River basin or also called the “Central Zone”. This research aimed to study the agronomic behavior in the pod filling of the soybean crop (Glycine max L.) under different doses of potassium fertilizer in the Balzar area, the design that was used was that of Complete Random Blocks ( BCA), randomly distributed in four repetitions, an economic analysis of the treatments was also carried out according to the level of performance. The variables were subjected to the Analysis of Variance to determine statistical significance and the Tukey test was applied at 95% probability, the treatment that showed the latest average in days to flowering was the control with 45.50: in terms of days to harvest the treatment that showed the earliest value was treatment 1 (170 Kg ha-1) with 112.75; Furthermore, this same treatment presented the lowest average percentage of lodging of plants with 5.50%, with regard to the height of the plant the highest value, was shown by treatment 3 (100 Kg ha-1) with 72.00 cm; the highest average number of pods per plant was shown by treatment 1 (170 Kg ha-1) with 58.25 pods; Likewise, in the weight of 100 seeds, treatment 1 (170 Kg ha-1) with 20.00 g, which was superior to the control with 19.50 g; and regarding the yield per hectare, treatment 1 (170 Kg ha-1) presented the highest value with 1307.50 Kg ha -1. It was determined that the amount of muriate of potassium presented by treatment 1 (170 Kg ha-1) has greater results in soybean production, thus having a higher profitability, however, the amount of fertilizer from treatment 3 (100 Kg ha - 1) had a greater response in plant height. Keywords: Agronomic behavior, potassium fertilizer, yield.
