সংক্ষিপ্ত:This work was carried out in the Shalalá indigenous community, located in the Zumbahua parish, Cotopaxi province, in order to carry out an Environmental Management Plan for the Shalalá Community Tourism Center (CTC). Being the main problem of this place the management of natural resources and its impact on the social and environmental development of this community. The objectives set out in this work were the characterization of the socio-environmental aspect and the natural resources of the community, identify impacts produced by the tourist activity and propose an Environmental Management Plan (PMA). Meetings were held with the community managers who expressed their views on the importance of having a management plan which they do not have. A checklist was made to be able to make a complete diagnosis of the place, recognizing important aspects of it. The characterization of the way of life jobs, type of housing of community members through surveys and the diagnosis of biotic means. This document contributes to the improvement of both social and environmental development in the Shalalá community by strengthening environmental and tourist development, always highlighting the scoop on sustainable development. They were obtained: 18 species among plants of ornamental origin, production and medicinal, fauna as could be described 22 species among mammals, birds, rodents which were compared with the list in danger of extinction, as a result of the Management Plan, nine files were obtained Of environmental management, according to the main affectations identified, of the nine plans, five are of short-term execution in the course of a year due to the fact that the entire plan is beyond the economic reach of the community.
