Shrnutí:Pneumonia is an infection that can be caused by bacteria, viruses or fungi in some cases. It is a worldwide problem due to its high mortality rates in children under 5 years of age. This can lead to very serious complications, especially in patients with cerebral palsy. This research work was carried out with the objective of implementing the nursing care process for pneumonia in a patient with cerebral palsy based on the prioritization of respiratory function and prevention of associated complications. The cephalocaudal assessment method and the Marjory Gordon functional pattern model were used. Three care plans were developed aimed at managing the airways, respiratory monitoring and improving sleep quality. Therefore, the execution of nursing interventions significantly influenced the patient's health status, showing improvement in the respiratory pattern, vital signs within normal parameters, decreased cough, infection, secretion production, and respiratory noises.
