Evaluación del crecimiento inicial de una plantación comercial de Pinus radiata D. Don. Sin la intervención de productos químicos en la Hacienda San José, parroquia el Chaupi, Cantón Mejía, Provincia de Pichincha.

The objective of this research was to evaluate the initial growth of a commercial plantation of Pinus radiata without the intervention of chemical products. A completely random block design (DBCA) with 3 repetitions and 7 treatments was used. The treatments consisted of different types of weed control: T1= No weed control (Witness), T2= Control in strips with Motoguadaña, T3= Control in strips with machete, T4= Total control with machete, T5= Control in crown with Motoguadaña, T6= Total control with Motoguadaña, T7= Control in crown with machete. Each treatment consisted of 3 repetitions, of which the development of the plant and the presence of weeds at the site were analysed. In the area of the experiment with a percentage of 13.3% the families Asteraceae, Fabaceae and Calceolariaceae of weeds were shown in greater quantity, as for the development in height the treatment T4 that was applied a control with machete obtained a growth to 90 days of 47.75 cm showing the best growth, despite the T5 treatment that was applied a crown control with Motoguadaña showed a growth of 25.16 cm presenting the lowest growths in height, in terms of diameter the T3 treatment with a growth of 0.78 cm at 90 days achieved the best average, in terms of T5 treatment was obtained a lower development with an average of 0.50cm.
