| Özet: | The Harkness Method is currently an alternative strategy of great importance in education because the system needs to be renewed to achieve better results in the performance of the Language subject; and especially in the development of listening and speaking skills. Therefore, it was proposed to develop an innovative Training Plan using the Harkness method to improve the learning process of the Language and Literature area of Third Year students, of Basic General Education of the Educational Institution "Neris Muñoz", of the Pangua Canton, Province of Cotopaxi. With the main purpose of including the use of the method in academic activities: the research was carried out with the teachers through an interview; Observation, the exploratory, inductive and deductive method were applied as techniques; a methodology with a mixed approach was used; A bibliographic review was carried out on the subject in order to understand its dynamics, from the investigation of primary sources it was obtained as results to describe the conclusions where it is highlighted that 50% of teachers sometimes use updated methodology to develop the skills of their students, allowing to know the level of understanding; and finally a guide for the development of activities was developed. It was also found as a result that the students have an insufficient level of reading comprehension, which is why the use of the Harkness method is expected to contribute to the students' learning process. |
