Summary:The work was carried out in the parish of La Victoria in the canton of Pujilí, Province of Cotopaxi, the producers of the irrigation board face problems when applying traditional agricultural systems, which are neither environmentally friendly, nor sustainable, nor profitable. The main objective of this project was to evaluate the sustainability of the producers of the Yahuartoa - Mulinliví irrigation and drainage water board of the parish of La Victoria in the year 2021. For the characterization and evaluation of sustainability, the first step was the delimitation of the study area and to obtain information, the methodology proposed by Santiago Sarandón was applied, using the survey technique and the questionnaire as an instrument. The results showed in the socioeconomic characterization of the producers that 22.5% have primary education, 55% have a concrete house, 5% have a monthly income of less than 100 dollars, 70% are engaged in agriculture, 7.5% in cattle raising and only 5% in handicrafts. In the socioeconomic and environmental characteristics of the farm, it was found that 100% have property titles, 62.5% sell their products to intermediaries; in addition, 5% are considered organic farmers; also 75% wait for rain to supply water; as for the analysis of the farmers' sustainability, an average of 2.21 was found, with values above the sustainability threshold in its three dimensions (economic, environmental and sociocultural), therefore it was found that there is sustainability in the sector. To increase the sustainability of the producers, changes can be made in the production systems of each farm, applying improvement alternatives with the sole purpose of gradually improving the levels of sustainability in the medium and long term.
