Residuos sólidos domiciliarios urbanos del cantón Valencia, Provincia de Los Ríos.

The present research aims to contribute to the proper management of solid household waste in the Valencia canton, which allows an integrated management of wastes, in order to promote ecological awareness, prevention of pollution and reduction of environmental impact generated for the inadequate management of urban solid household waste. For the development of this research work, the processes, programs, procedures, techniques, policies and criteria on solid waste in the Valencia canton were described and analyzed. The purpose of this research is to present a strategic analysis highlighting the need to identify solid waste characterization, to create sensitivity of the environmental risk that occurs and the irreparable consequences on the environment and the phreatic vulnerability observed in the area Urban area of Valencia. The analysis of solid household waste generation in Valencia, showed that paperboard, paper and plastic obtained the highest average generations of 14.69, 11.74 and 11.59 kg respectively; However, the organic matter an average generation of 46.92 kg higher values than that identified in the neighborhood Las Palmas, Mocache, where it was determined that 0.670 kg of organic waste is conceived. It was established that the Valencia parish sector represents 33% of the total area investigated, that is, the La Nueva Union sector with a total of 503.75 kg of physical composition of solid household waste. The amount of per capita generation of urban solid waste in the La Nueva Union sector is set out in the respective tables in the annexes. According to the final disposition that the GAD of Valencia performs it is done in open air without any type of treatment or separation of the residues which seriously affects the health of the population and in turn to the environmental quality since in place that is The RSU is located an estuary a few meters from the site, therefore the hypothesis is accepted. It is recommended the application of an environmental education plan for solid urban residential waste in Valencia, benefiting residents and the environment.
