Yhteenveto:The Forest Restoration Program FRP promoted by the Ministerio del Ambiente MAE is part of the principles and rights of the Constitution, particularly in the people right to live in a healthy and a balanced environment; as well as also in the right of the nature to the restoration. The objective of the research was to identify and validate priority areas for forest restoration using Geographic Information Systems in the Sancan commune, Jipijapa canton, Manabí Province. The analysis of priority areas was made basically using the Geographic Information Systems, cartography of the Ministerio de Ambiente and basic cartography WGS 84 altogether with orthophotos of the area of study, on which have been made basically the rectification to eliminate the distortion due to the relief, use of soil, and the verification on-site to corroborate the existence of vegetable coverage in the prioritized areas. At the end of the assessment and valuation of the results it can deduced that of the forty seven initial properties in study, the 81% of the properties were able to comply the guidelines of prioritization for restoration forest. Of this 81%, that is equivalent to thirty eight properties, there are a total of 1044,17 ha, that they met with the guidelines of the Ministerio del Ambiente, That is to say, these lands are not within the National System of Protected Areas SNAP, in proposals of forest restoration subsidized by the MAE, and in areas of Socio Bosque Program PSB. Anomalies presented in the poorly zoned lands were basically due to the lack of necessary supplies for planimetric uprisings and distortion of information by the potential beneficiaries; so that it is fundamental to improve these processes.
