Tóm tắt: | The Ochroma pyramidale raft is a forest and wood species that has great demand in the international market. Coptoborus ochromactonus, is a scolitid associated with Ochroma pyramidale in Ecuador whose specific name is derived from the same tree which has caused damage of over 50% in the plantations of 3 years of age. This research aimed to evaluate the incidence and severity of C. ochromactonus in the balsa plantations in the central area of the Ecuadorian littoral, evaluating 1.2 and 3 year old plantations. The results show that there is a difference between the different ages and locations evaluated, with the 3-year-old plantations being the most affected in El Vergel and El Empalme, registering a greater presence of C. ochromactonus. In the severity analysis, it shows that there is a difference between the average number of perforations in the different ages evaluated, where it was possible to see the highest number of perforations in the plantations of 3 years of age, being these plantations the most suitable for there to be more incidence and severity of the attack of C. ochromactonus. In El Empalme the highest incidence and severity index was registered, this would be affected by the environmental conditions since El Empalme is considered a dry zone and the plants are more prone to the attack of these insects and El Vergel a humid zone. |
