| Özet: | In the fish farming sector at the State Technical University of Quevedo, specifically at the La María campus, there are challenges related to data integrity and security due to the use of Internet of Things devices that transmit operations to a cloud database. Thus, the aim of this research was to integrate IoT with blockchain technology for data collection and management in fish farming, enhancing operational efficiency and sustainability of the process. The adopted methodology was qualitative with an applied design, focusing on integrating and evaluating a decentralized storage system based on blockchain for IoT devices in aquaculture. This approach sought practical solutions to security and efficiency issues within the aquaculture industry. Through this methodology, the most suitable type of storage for this research was identified: a blockchain-based system using a server to connect the Firebase-hosted database with Ganache blockchains. Data verification stored in Ganache was conducted via a WebApp. In this context, it is concluded that a hybrid storage solution, which combines the scalability of cloud storage with the integrity and reliability of blockchain, is optimal for data management in aquaculture. This hybrid system provides an ideal balance between scalability, security, and data integrity in the aquaculture sector. |
