| Summary: | Pastures and fodder are the basis of animal feed and other efficient use of grass could meet much of the nutritional requirements of livestock. In the canton of Guayas province El Empalme was established research "agronomic performance and nutritional value of ten varieties of grasses in different stages of maturity in the area of El Empalme, where aims were to determine the agronomic performance of varieties of grasses three stages of maturity and establish the nutritional value of the ten varieties of grasses. We studied ten varieties of grass (v1: Saboya común, v2:Saboya Tanzania; v3: Saboya Enano ;v4: Saboya Tobiata, v5: Andropogus; v6 Estrella; v7 Miel; v8 Decumbens; v9 Brizhanta y v10 Mulato, and the factor ( E), three crop ages: (e1: 21, e2, e3 42 and 63). We used a completely randomized design (CRD) with ten plants per experimental unit. We assessed plant height (cm), biomass Forage (kg), number, length, width and weight of leaves, number and weight of stems, leaf: stem and chemical composition. The highest plant height (141.20 cm), weight of feed (2.20 kg), leaf weight (1.59 kg), leaf length (76.20 cm), were achieved with Tanzania grass at 42 days. Stem weight (0.63 kg) and number of stems (460.00) was obtained with the grass B. decumbens at 63 days, the best stem (6.42) was reported to the grass Tobiata at 63 days and the highest number of leaves (2365.00) in the Star grass at 63 days. The highest levels of protein were obtained Savoy grass common at 63 days with 15.88% of protein. |
