Evaluación de tres insecticidas orgánicos en el control de Cochinilla (Dysmicoccus texensis) en el cultivo de banano (Musa spp.) variedad Williams en la época lluviosa en la zona La Maná.

Περίληψη:Cochineal (Dysmicoccus texensis) is a plague of economic importance in banana cultivation because, in addition to damaging the sap of plants, it is also a transmitter of BSV (Banana Streak Virus), so it becomes necessary its timely control. Considering the above, the present investigation was carried out in order to determine the effect of organic insecticides on the control of cochineal in the cultivation of banana (Musa spp.) Variety Williams. The trial was carried out at the "San Carlos 2" Hacienda, located in the "Tres Coronas" sector of La Maná, Cotopaxi province, located between coordinates 79 ° 13.5036 'West longitude and 0 ° 56.4564' latitude south, 220 meters above sea level. We used a completely randomized design with 4 treatments in 6 replicates. The insecticides were evaluated: Cochibiol, New BT and Neem-X, and an absolute control. The means were compared using the Tukey test at 95% probability. Data were recorded on the number of specimens at week 32 and plant age 36, efficacy and efficiency of insecticides, growth and engrose of pseudotallo. The main results showed that the growth and thickening of the pseudotallo was higher in plants treated with New Bt, showing an increase of 30.58 and 3.42 cm in the height and diameter of the pseudotallo, respectively, while the remaining insecticides: Cochibiol and Neem-x showed a decrease in plant height between 2.90 and 4.48 cm, and a pseudotallo thickening between 0.16 and 0.27 cm, below the values recorded with New Bt, which demonstrates less interference of D texensis in the development of plants. , for every 10 mealybugs present in a banana plant, the growth of the pseudotallo is decreased by 0.30 cm, while the fatness of the latter decreases by 0.07 cm. The New Bt treatment controlled a greater number of D. texensis specimens, with an average of 15.67 specimens tested in four weeks of evaluation, controlling 88.68% of the recorded specimens, being the most effective for controlling populations of said insect with a 93.75% relative to the absolute control.
