Opis
Izvleček:In a context in which learning to read and write in primary schools, globally, is a central issue in Ecuador and elsewhere, it is important to question teaching practices, as well as the preferred approaches to teaching and learning to read. This investigative work presents some elements of the problem of learning and the teaching of the various techniques in reading comprehension in the teaching-learning process of Fifth Year Basic students. It also presents, in a literature review, the results of an investigation on the impact of teaching practices on the learning process of reading and writing in Basic students. The theoretical framework that supports this research is particularly inspired by socio-constructivist theories of learning. Similarly, the results of an exploratory study carried out through semi-structured surveys with teachers, parents and students of the Walter Andrade Fajardo School. The quanti-qualitative study aims to identify the teaching practices for teaching reading and writing used by the four participating teachers. The qualitative analysis of the data guides us towards the effectiveness and the need for the practice of integrated approaches in teaching, to help the student in their learning. Finally, in the conclusion some avenues for reflection are mentioned.
