Etiketle | Özet: | This research was carried out with the aim of finding out how each household in the canton of La Mana generates consumption through the proper management of solid waste, in order to promote an environmental culture and reduce the high levels of contamination caused by the incorrect handling of waste. The study began with a diagnosis of current waste management, which was carried out by means of surveys, interviews and direct observation, in order to ascertain their perception of the current situation in the canton. Seventy-five samples were taken for quantitative characterisation in the homes of the families, where the daily per capita generation was 7.13 kg/inhab/day and a per capita production of 0.30 kg per inhabitant per day in the urban area and a solid waste composition of 68.15% organic waste, 12.09% plastics and 9.78% paper or cardboard, causing a negative impact on the environment due to the excessive consumption generated by the population. With the results obtained, a proposal for an integrated solid waste plan was established, which includes environmental training programmes, minimisation, waste recovery, monitoring and control to obtain environmental and economic benefits in the canton of La Mana.
