| Sumari: | The circular economy consists of the use of by-products and waste for the development of new products, thus reducing waste and environmental pollution. In the case of cocoa crops, the circular economy offers the possibility of using by-products such as the cocoa shell and mucilage for the production of value-added products, such as beverages and healthy foods. In this context, the research aims to evaluate the incidence of the circular economy as an alternative for sustainable production in cocoa crops. Sustainable production implies maximizing the efficiency in the use of resources and minimizing the negative impact on the environment and on society. Practices such as the use of organic bonds, biological pest control and proper waste management are important in this regard. The research methodology will be qualitative-quantitative, and will allow the evaluation of the data obtained through direct observation, interview and relevant documentation. Field investigations, interviews and surveys will be carried out to collect relevant information on current practices and possible sustainable production alternatives. The results obtained will improve valuable information to improve practices and promote sustainable development in the area. Cocoa production in the Las Naves canton of the Bolívar province is essential for the economy because it represents an important source of income for farmers and contributes to sustainable development. |
