Summary:research was to analyze the rates of inflation and its impact on the domestic economy of Quevedo canton, in the first half of 2012 as a general objective, while the specific objectives that were raised were as follows; the first was to conduct a historical analysis of the level of inflation of Ecuador in the last ten years, while the second was to determine the socioeconomic level of inflation and its impact on the domestic economy of the canton Quevedo, the third had to do with research products most are expensive and their effect on the economy of families and the fourth focused on assessing the performance of household income Quevedo canton. To make this work seven chapters (contextual framework of research, theoretical framework, research methodology, results and discussion, conclusions and recommendations, bibliography and appendices) were developed. To achieve the objectives and methods used; inductive, deductive and analytical, while the types of research were; applied, literature and history, technique consisted of surveys with 381 families in the canton Quevedo. The results according to the historical analysis in 2008 showed that the highest inflation in the last ten years of 8,83% was recorded, the impact of inflation in the domestic economy is high, because of the total respondents 84,78% have you noticed the price increase in the goods and services they buy. Information disclosed resulted products are suffering from rising food and basic services such as; rice, sugar, oil, meat, milk, vegetables, clothing, footwear, education, health, transportation, and others of importance. On the behavior of household income Quevedo Canton was found that 85,56% of household heads surveyed have jobs, but the percentage of the 50,13% do not have a permanent contract and the 14,44% nor are IESS or some another institution, a situation which affects the quality of life, as it is difficult to acquire in full the products that make up the basic family basket.
