Carbono almacenado y secuestro de dióxido de carbono (CO2) de diez especies forestales en la finca Experimental la represa, propiedad de la Universidad Técnica Estatal de Quevedo, cantón Quevedo, provincia de los Ríos

This research work was carried out with the objective of estimating the amount of carbon stored in phase 1 of the species bank within the experimental farm La Represa, located in the parish of San Carlos in the canton of Quevedo, province of Los Rios, in order to generate a carbon inventory and in turn estimate the CO2 content that this type of species can store in the aerial part. To determine the content of carbon stored in the aerial biomass, the non-destructive method based on allometric equations was used. To estimate the amount of carbon stored in this territory, the methodology was divided into two phases, a field phase and a phase of analysis of results; the information in the field was collected through the method of plots, using rectangular plots of 15 x 15 m (225 m2) already established and evenly distributed throughout the territory, from each plot of 225 m2 the dasometric variables (diameter-height) of each of the 10 species were collected.
