| Summary: | This research project carries out the design and simulation of an elevation system incorporated in buses for people with reduced mobility in the Canton of Quevedo, Province of Los Ríos. The importance of this project lies in giving people with reduced mobility the opportunity to be part of society through access to public transportation services, which will provide them with social, labor and cultural opportunities available to the general population. Prior to the design, the existing regulations for elevation systems, the definitions and characteristics of the drive types and the metallic structure of the elevator were investigated. Once the bibliographic review was completed, using the weighted criteria method, the type of metallic structure and the drive system that would make up the elevation system were selected. Subsequently, the calculations of stresses, deformations and safety factor for each structural element of the elevator were carried out, then the modeling and análisis by finite elements were performed using SolidWorks software, from which it was obtained that the construction materials selected for each element complied with the assigned load conditions; also, the stresses obtained in the finite element analysis are not greater than the creep limit of the construction material, on the other hand, the deformations and the safety factors calculated for each structural element of the elevator present acceptable design values. Finally, the construction drawings of the elements that make up the elevator system for people with reduced mobility were obtained. Key words: Elevator system, Disability, Hydraulic systems, Mechanical design. |
