Тойм:The purpose of this research is to analyze the relationship between parental accompaniment and students' academic performance and make a proposal for support based on the interaction between parents and children. The research subjects were 36 first year high school students of the Ciudad de Quevedo Educational Unit, located in the Republic of Ecuador, 16 fathers and 18 mothers of the same grade. The methodology had a quantitative approach and data was collected through surveys of students and parents. The main findings were that 56% of the students receive a type of accompaniment that was defined as a provider and 58% have grades that are at the qualitative level of very good. The proposal is based on constructivist theory; especially the ideas of interaction and scaffolding were taken to reach the potential development zone
