Čoahkkáigeassu:Financial resources in companies are a basic need, either to undertake the business, grow or expand. The objective of this research was to identify what are the non-traditional funding sources with greater use in small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Quevedo city, in which activities are channeled these resources, which are their financing needs and determine the incidence of these factors in the organizational development of SMEs. For this purpose it was necessary the use of field research by conducting surveys of SMEs owners in Quevedo city, which yielded a sample of 360 companies surveyed, using a non-experimental research design. As a result it was found that the providers are currently the main source of non-traditional financial resources, for obligations related to working capital, indicating that channel their resources primarily to productive activities, stressing also the debt restructuring and the acquisition of fixed assets. SMEs have financial needs that amount to more than $ 10,000, therefore don’t have sufficient resources to grow, also unaware of the advantages and disadvantages of the use of resources from funding sources nontraditional and are not fully trained in this regard. So could check the hypothesis, as it was determined that the lack of resources from non-traditional sources of funding affects the organizational development of SMEs in Quevedo.
