Description
Summary:This research was conducted at the Experimental Farm "La Maria" UTEQ located at Km 7 Vía Quevedo-El Empalme whose geographical coordinates are 79 ° 47 'west longitude and 01 ° 32' south latitude and 120 m. and aimed to identify new parental selected corn, Quevedo area. It was studied and identified new parental Vinces 15-1 Vinces 35-1, 39-1 Vinces Sto Domingo 15-1 and 45-1 Mocache adapted to this area to determine which get higher performance and better adaptability, so Design was used a randomized complete block (RCBD) with 5 treatments and 3 replications. For comparison between treatment means the Tukey test at 0.05% probability was used. The variables studied were: plant height, ear insertion height, leaf diseases, uniformity of ear, ear length, ear diameter, number of rows per ear, weight of 1000 grams and yield per hectare. According to the results of analysis of variance Parental Selection Vinces 35-1 obtained earlier age in male and female flowers, El Mocache 45-1 parental had the highest health from foliar diseases and higher yield variable hectare was presented by parental selection Mocache 45-1 reaching 6363.69 kg / ha, which presented statistical difference compared to the other parent.
