Beskrivelse
Summary:The present investigation was made on the farm "TWO BROTHERS", owned by Mr. Mario Malagón Villareal, located at km. 5 of the way La Maná - Latacunga, Puembo enclosure, located south-east of the province of Cotopaxi, geographical location is 0°45’35” south latitude and 7 º 09’32” west longitudes, and to a height of 289 masl. The investigation had duration of 56 days. The objectives were: a) To determine the level of inclusion (10, 20, and 30 %) mixture of forage (grass guatemala with perennial peanut) feeding guinea pigs for fattening, so as to increase the production parameters. b) To determine the profitableness of the treatments. Was applied a design totally at random (DTR) whit four treatments and six replications, the size of the experimental unit (EU) consisted of two animals. To determine the differences between means were applied multiple range test of Tukey (P≤0.05). For the economic analysis of the treatments were applied Benefit Cost Ratio. The variables evaluated were: food intake (g), weight gain (g), feed conversion, carcass yield (%) and the yield (%). The T3 treatment Balanced 70 % + 30 % forage (Guatemala grass with perennial peanut) registered the highest feed intake (34 g DM/animal-1 day-1); however, in the live weight, weight gain, carcass weight and carcass yield there was no statistical difference (P>0.05) between treatments. The most efficient feed conversion index (P<0.05) recorded it T0 treatment 100 % Balanced (3.11). The higher return (30.67 %) recorded it the T2 treatment Balanced 80 % + 20 % forage (guatemala grass whit perennial peanut). These results allow recommend: Use Balanced 80 % + 20 % forage (guatemala grass whit perennial peanut) in the feed of guinea pigs of fattening and perform investigations with the same forages in stage of gestation and lactation.
