Samenvatting:HIV is a chronic disease that has affected millions of people worldwide. In addition to its physical effects, this disease has also had a significant impact on the mental health of patients. In the case of women living with HIV, there are additional factors that have influenced their mental health and their ability to cope with the disease. The present study aimed to apply a comprehensive nursing intervention plan to improve the quality of life and psychosocial well-being by addressing the holistic approach to their physical, emotional, and social needs in patients with HIV and depression. This addressed the complex intersection of physical and mental health in patients facing HIV as a chronic illness. This study analyzed a 53-year-old female patient who was diagnosed with HIV 17 years ago and suffers from depression, further complicating her situation. Through a thorough evaluation of her symptoms, a solid foundation was established to design and implement effective nursing interventions. Regarding her mental health, interventions focused on reducing her anxiety, promoting self-control of fear, and increasing the will to live. Significant improvement was observed in each of these aspects, suggesting that nursing interventions had a positive impact on her emotional and physical well-being. This study highlights the importance of a comprehensive approach in caring for patients with HIV and depression. Nursing interventions proved to be effective in improving the mental and physical health of the patient. It is essential to continue monitoring their progress and providing ongoing support to ensure continuous recovery and improve their quality of life.
