“Histología hepatosomática en juveniles de tilapia roja (oreochromis mossambicus x oreochromis niloticus) con inclusión de quitosano en dieta.”

Tilapia needs a considerable demand for concentrated foods that guarantee an adequate supply and balance of nutrients capable of satisfying nutritional requirements, where the quality of this will have a direct impact on the growth and health of the organisms. Тойм:Tilapia needs a considerable demand for concentrated foods that guarantee an adequate supply and balance of nutrients capable of satisfying nutritional requirements, where the quality of this will have a direct impact on the growth and health of the organisms. The objective of the study was to analyze by means of histology the hepatosomatic response in juvenile red tilapia (Oreochromis mossambicus x Oreochromis niloticus) fed with concentrations: 0, 1, 3 and 5% of chitosan inclusion in diet. For which a completely randomized design (DCA) with four treatments and three repetitions (experimental tanks) with a density of 15 juvenile tilapia / tank was used. The culture period lasted 55 days, then the livers were dissected and processed by histology. In the hepatosomatic index, no statistical differences were recorded (p≤0.05), the highest average was recorded in T2 (1% chitosan in the diet) with 2.25%. In the variables area, diameter and volume of hepatocytes, the highest values were obtained by T4 (5% chitosan in the diet) differing (p≤0.05) from the control treatment. Regarding the cytoplasm diameters and the cytoplasm area / nuclear area ratio (μm2) of the hepatocytes, the highest values were obtained by T4 differing (p≤0.05) for T1 and T2; In the variables related to the size of the nucleus of the hepatocytes, T4 presented the highest averages, differing (P≤0.05) from T2. Regarding the size of the sinusoids, the highest average was recorded by T4 with a diameter of 6.78 μm and an area of 38.23 μm2, it is concluded that the addition of chitosan in any of the inclusion levels to the diet did not cause any alteration and improvement of liver morphohistology.
