Shrnutí:The use of activated carbon as a substrate medium in recent years has allowed to obtain economic, environmental and social benefits for the human being and in the different forest species, investigations have been developed that allow obtaining the ideal substrate for large-scale propagation, for which the purpose of the study was to evaluate the effect of activated carbon on the development of S. saman and S. parahybum seedlings at the nursery level, a DCA was used through three T1 treatments (activated carbon from rice husk + soil, relationship 1: 4); T2 (activated carbon from banana rachis + soil, ratio 1: 4); T3 (activated carbon of wood + earth, ratio 1: 4); and T0 (control) with three repetitions each, the variables studied were: germination percentage (PG); germination start day (DIG); day of maximum germination (DMG); final day of germination (DFG); percentage of mortality (PM); seedling height (AP); stem diameter (DT); number of sheets (NH); and survival percentage (PS), Tukey's test (P <0.05) was applied to identify significant differences. The best results in S. saman for germination were in T3 with 50%, in morphological variables T1 presented 10,38 cm high, 2,3 mm in diameter and 9 leaflets and T3 showed a survival of 50%, for the species S. parahybum T3 presented a germination of 56,67%, while in morphology the T1 maintained 12 cm high and 3,1 mm in diameter, on the other hand, the T0 had an average of 7 leaflets and 84,62% survival. Keywords: germination, morphological variables, survival, analysis of variance.
