Čoahkkáigeassu:The objective of carrying out this research is to evaluate the environmental impact of hazardous waste management in automotive mechanic workshops in the city of Mocache. Diagnostic and exploratory research and the inductive method were applied respectively, based on the information obtained from primary and secondary research sources. For the development of specific objective one, we proceeded to survey the owners and the personnel who work in the automotive mechanic workshops in the city of Mocache, about the personal perception that they have about the environmental impact of hazardous waste that influences negative way to the environment. For the development of the specific objective two, the application of the Leopold matrix was applied, to carry out the qualitative and quantitative assessment of the interactions of each one of the activities of the automotive mechanic workshops of the Mocache city, Los Ríos province. For the development of specific objective three, various environmental management subplans were proposed and carried out, related to some aspects that must be taken into account for their subsequent implementation as part of a Comprehensive Environmental Management Plan. It is concluded that the Mocache auto mechanic workshops do not implement an adequate management of hazardous waste. Finally, it is recommended to prepare an Environmental Management Plan for the control and mitigation of the impacts caused by the handling of hazardous waste in automotive mechanic workshops in the city of Mocache.
