| 要約: | The present investigation was made in the farm " JIMENEZ " , owned by Mr. Angel Jimenez , located in the km.11/2 La Maná-Quevedo road El Toquillal Cantón “La Maná" , located south East Cotopaxi province , its geographical location is 0 ° 45'35 '' south latitude and 7 ° 09'32 '' west longitude to a height of 240 meters. The work lasted in 56 days and the following objectives were reached: a) Determine the effect of feeding grass Saboya (Panicum maximum Jack) and leaves of banana (Musa sapientum), on the productive performance of guinea pigs. b) Determine the effect of sex on the productive performance of guinea pigs c) Determine the performance of the treatments. We applied a 2 (fodder) x 2 (gender) design within a randomized complete block (RCBD) with six replications, the size of the experimental unit (EU) consisted of two animals. To determine the differences between means were applied multiple range test of Tukey (P ≤ 0.05). Economic analysis of the treatments were applied Benefit Cost Ratio. We evaluated forage intake (g), food (g) weight (g), weight gain (g), feed conversion, carcass weight (g), carcass yield (%) and the yield (%). The grass Saboya was the most consumed forage (58.68 g DM animal-1 day-1), however, live weight, weight gain, carcass weight and carcass yield were not influenced (P>0.05) due to consumption of forage and sex. The index most efficient feed conversion (P< 0.05) had the male guinea (8,28). The higher return (40,86%) the treatment was composed of male guinea pigs and fed with Saboya grass. The results show that with the use of tropical forage resources, satisfactory results are obtained in the guinea pig fattening in the study area. |
