Gestión logística y de transporte del cantón Quevedo y su implicación en el desarrollo sostenible, año 2023.

Logistics and transportation management are fundamental for the sustainable development of a city, as in the case of the Quevedo canton. This research aimed to analyze such management in this context. A mobility diagnosis was conducted, examining roads and transit points, along with monitoring traffic on two main streets for a week. Additionally, a survey was administered to understand public perception of the management system. The results revealed that, despite having 190 urban transport units, the service is perceived as inadequate due to deficiencies in the units, lack of cleanliness, and inadequate lighting. Security issues were also identified, with 78% of respondents reporting robberies on buses. Regarding environmental and social impact, from the literature review of various authors, it was observed that noise levels in the city exceed legal limits, and there was a lack of coordination between institutions responsible for controlling CO2 emissions and noise. Therefore, better coordination among these involved institutions is recommended to address these issues, in line with the responsibilities established in the COOTAD and the Environmental Code, to mitigate the environmental and social impact of logistics and transportation management in Quevedo.
