| Zusammenfassung: | In the research called "Agroeconomical - social evaluation of small cocoa farms in the Peñafiel enclosure of the San Carlos Parish, Quevedo canton", the research problem arises from the need to help the farmers of this place that are affected in the production of cocoa because of the lack of help or guidance to be able to obtain better results in their crops and productions. In order to carry out this research, the following objective was proposed: Evaluate the agroeconomic and social situation of small cocoa farms in the Peñafiel de Adentro enclosure of the San Carlos rural Parish of Quevedo canton. A descriptive and field investigation was applied; In the same way, the deductive, inductive and analytical method was applied. With the application of the surveys, the following results of the research work were obtained: 40% of the farmers surveyed mention that their farms have from 1 to 5 years in the production of cocoa. 53% of the activities are carried out with their own capital, 27% mention other sources (lenders). 66% of the respondents have from 1 to 2 hectares cultivated on the farm, 27% have from 2 to 3 hectares and 7% indicate that they have from 4 to 5 hectares. 80% stated that production is 21 to 30 qq / ha and 20% more than 30qq / ha. 65% perform manual weed control. 80% of farmers use casual labor in field activities. As for the sale of cocoa, 75% sell dry cocoa, 25% sell it in baba. 55% get between $ 150 to $ 200 in regards to average monthly income for cocoa sales. The factors that affect the productivity of cocoa, 33% mentioned the instability of the prices of the quintal of cocoa. 40% have between 46 and 60 years, 25% have between 31 and 45 years. 27% of respondents said they had between 1 and 3 children, while 60% of respondents had more than 4 children.
