Impacto de la vinculación con la colectividad de la carrera de ingeniería en gestión ambiental de la UTEQ, periodo 2013-2017

This research proyect was evaluated the impact of the Connnection with the Collective of the Engineering in Environmental Management Career of the State Technical University of Quevedo during the period 2013-2017, through the analysis of solid waste management within the Educational Units and Communities/Associations, likewise, the general process of the linking program was assessed throughout the years of study. Based on the Servqual model, it was possible to determine the quality of solid waste management within of the connnection institutions, which determined an average value of -0.94 for the five dimensions (Tangibility, Reliability, Responsibility, Safety and Empathy); that is to say, the quality of the solid waste management in the linked institutions had shortcomings, the factors that influence in this result are the lack of signage in the containers and lack of sufficient knowledge when separating the waste from the source. On the other hand, when analyzing the project of Connnection with the Collective of the Career, the directors of the linking institutions rated as Good (67%) and Excellent (21%) the linking practices made by the students, however, it was also proved that the institutions don’t continue with the execution of the Solid Waste Plan, do not comply with permanent activities to favor and encourage the care of the environment, and not have a sustainable environmental planning neither; The reasons are the lack of environmental advice and general disinterest. Therefore, strategies were proposed through an Integral Solid Waste Management and Environmental Education Plan, whose fundamental purpose is to encourage environmental education in educational institutions and communities, achieving that both students, teachers and the community in general, achieve the knowledge , skills, values and practices to participate responsibly and effectively in the prevention and solution of environmental problems and in the management of the quality of the environment.
