Plan de mitigación del nivel de ruido ambiental producido por el tráfico vehicular en el área urbana del cantón Valencia.

The present research was carried out it in the Valencia canton Los Ríos county, in the year 2013. Their main objective was to determine the environmental noise taken place by the vehicular traffic that is manifested in the urban area. The mensuration of the noise, generate by the vehicular traffic in the Valencia canton, was realized in three main streets with more vehicular traffic, which were: the Sucre street, the December 13 avenue and the Rocafuerte street. Four points was settled down in each street and the noise was registered, in the following schedules: 7:00 to 10:00 am, 12:00 to 3:00 pm and 5:00 to 8:00 pm, for each vehicle type, which were: motorcycles, cars, vans, buses, vans and trucks. Moreover, the quantification of the vehicles types was carried out. According to the study in the Valencia canton, it was determined that the noise level produced by the vehicular traffic surpasses to the permissible maximum limits, therefore it is necessary that the Municipality of the canton and the pertinent authorities implements the Plan of Mitigation of the environmental noise level focused in the vehicular traffic, with the purpose to avoid environmental problems related with the noise and improve the environmental quality of the Valencia canton.
