Sumari:The following research was made during the dry season of 2012 in El Canton Quevedo in 2012 at the Experimental Farm “La Maria located at km 7 ½ way to El Empalme property Technical State University Quevedo (UTEQ), located in the Upper Basin of the Guayas River at 90 meters above sea level, with the objetive of studying the effect and efficiency of chemical fungicides and botanicals in the control of Asian rust (Phakopsora pachyrhizi Sydow & Sydow) evaluating the intensity of the disease (incidence and severity), analyzing the damage on the crop leaf area, checking which of the products to use was the most optimal for the disease control. The varieties used in the experiment were INIAP 308 improved by selecting a group of cultivars that were introduced in 2000 from Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia, the variety P-34 strain is the result of breeding advance by the ICA in the Experimental Centre Palmira (Colombia) and further evaluation in different localities of the Cauca Valley, and Difeconazol + azoxystrobin fungicides (Amistar Top) Malaleuca Alternofilia (Timorex) Propiconazole (Pamona) Epoxiconalzol + Pyraclostrobina (Opera), using the experimental desing stadistical desing used Randomized Complete Block (RCBD) with factorial arrangement of 2 x 4 + 2 (2 varieties of soybean fungicides + 2 x 4 control) With four repetitions. Finally the resulting values were subjected to analysis of variance and comparison of means by Duncan at 5% probability of error. Based on the results obtained it was concluded, that the greater height of the plant with fungicide reflected Timorex with 13,8 cm more than the control, the leaf area index was favorable for those plants receiving the application of fungicide Opera 41,8 g more than the control; the highest number of pods per plant in both varieties, was presented with the application of fungicide Amistar Top with 33 vegetables over the witness. The highest number of seeds per plants was reflected in the application of fungicide Opera surpassing witness 104.28 seeds. Similarly the number of seeds per legume, Opera in this case exceeded the fungicide Amistar Top scored the highest average to the witness gr 45,25 the highest production per hectare caught the INIAP 308 variety with the application of fungicide Opera, surpassing the witness in 1500,21 kg/ha.
