Description
Summary:Self-esteem is a key factor for human relationships and especially during adolescence, due to the need to search for identity, self-affirmation and decision-making. Therefore, this research work had the purpose of determining the incidence of self-esteem in the school performance of tenth-year students who attend the Quevedo Educational Unit. For this purpose, techniques such as interviews and surveys at the institutional level were applied. Among the main results, it was obtained that more than 50% of the students maintain a low level of self-esteem, teachers do not apply strategies that help improve student performance, so a training plan was carried out for teachers to determine educational strategies in view of the need to strengthen the self-esteem and academic performance of students. Finally, the results showed that the self-esteem and academic performance of these young people cannot be left aside from indifference, therefore, through the Educational Unit, the quality of life of the community must be strengthened and improved; so that by allowing the necessary actions to be taken, the self-esteem and school performance of the students who attend this institution will improve, because all of this influences the student's life and its environment.
