Sumari:New trends such as birdwatching ecotourism are booming, not only for their natural value, but also for the sustainability and conservation that these activities involve.”, In an effort to disseminate and promote these new alternative forms of tourism in the province of Los Ríos I undertook this research entitled “Designing a birdwatching guide to the Experimental Farm "La Represa" of Quevedo State Technical University. In order to meet the objectives of the investigation conducted field visits, and with the help of a camera and binoculars semi-range could observe the different birds existing in the locality. Potential tourist facilities were noted and a birding route in which tourists observe bird sightings and the strategic points for better observation was laid out. A birdwatching guide which is a strategic complement for birdwatchers was designed. The field observations yielded a total of 36 different species of birds including birds of prey, wading birds, pigeons etc. The most common bird found was the “garrapatero” or groove billed ani, which is found in all the areas studied. Finally, we designed a 3-km route falls within the first two routes leaving from the reception hut experimental farm "La Represa" State Technical University of Quevedo following medicinal plants zones cedar trail and arriving at the same starting point, the second is an open path, which part of the cabin along the lagoon, the production areas (Teak, Pachaco and cocoa) then reach endpoint is secondary forest where we find a greater number species of parakeets, toucans and eagles.
