"Caracteristicas meristicas, morfometricas y rendimiento a la canal del campeche (Plecostomus spinosissintus) capturadas en la zona de Quevedo".

The present investigation was carried out in the Quevedo River and in the experimental farm "La María" belonging to the State Technical University of Quevedo (UTEQ), located at km 7 of the Quevedo - El Empalme road. The morphometric, meristic and yield characteristics were evaluated, 300 samples of Plecostomus spinosissimus were taken in different places of the Quevedo River. The variables evaluated were, LC1 Head thickness, LC2 Thickness in the first spine, LC3 Thickness in the last spine, LC4 Thickness in the second dorsal fin, LC5 Thickness at the base of the caudal fin, P1 perimeter in the head, P2 perimeter on the first spine, P3 perimeter on the last spine, P4 perimeter on the second spine, and P5 perimeter at the base of the caudal fin. In morphometric, with the obtained results it is determined that the correlation values were high in most of the variables, reaching 0.99 which shows that there is a strong relationship between the variables studied in mention, in meristic, the frequencies of the radios; dorsal, ventral, pectoral, anal, occurred mostly between 5 and 9, finding an excellent variety, in the descriptive statistics applied to these variables.
