Тойм:This research examined the global problem of learning disabilities in students, focusing on the lack of adequate intellectual development techniques and their impact on academic performance, especially in the context of the "La Maná" Educational Unit in Ecuador. The overall objective of the study was to analyze the impact of intellectual development techniques on the academic performance of two students with learning disabilities; however, due to the lack of cooperation from one of the mothers, the study was conducted with only one student. To this end, a quantitative analysis of report card grades was used, along with a qualitative assessment of the perceptions of the parents and the teacher through interviews. The results demonstrated that, while the one student grades did not reflect a significant increase, the techniques applied had a highly positive impact on qualitative aspects such as student autonomy, self-confidence, and motivation. Growth in self-efficacy and greater engagement in schoolwork were evident, indicating that progress is not always reflected in numerical averages. It was concluded that the use of intellectual development techniques positively influenced student overall development and that the evaluation of their progress should be holistic, considering qualitative achievements to more fairly recognize their progress.
