Achoimre:The objective of this research work was to elaborate a teacher training plan to improve the development of reading comprehension of students in the seventh grade of elementary school. This research will be carried out in the School of Basic Education Republic of Germany of Buena Fe canton, from 2020 - 2021. The design had a qualitative-quantitative approach through exploratory, descriptive research, applying observation techniques and as an instrument the survey, interview for data triangulation, the study population is composed of teachers, authorities and students of the School of Basic Education Republic of Germany. As a result, a series of ten sessions was elaborated, among which two contain theory that the teacher should know about reading comprehension, and the others were developed in a practical way addressing the three levels of reading comprehension (literal, inferential and critical). Each one detailed with the resources and method of evaluation of the same. Through its application, the conclusion of the effectiveness and viability was reached through the evaluation of the dimensions of the proposal in which 97% of approval was obtained, which in the future will lead to the improvement of the students reading comprehension, through the planning of cognitive activities that promote reading habits in the students
