الملخص:For the purposes of developing the investigation process, it was carried out in the Buena Fe canton carried out in the El Carmen enclosure owned by Mr. Edys Vicente Macías Mieles, located geographically in the Western Longitude of -79.524874 and South Latitude of -0.924559, at a 84 meters above sea level and regular topography. The general objective of this research was to evaluate the effects of chemical control in the management of insect pests in corn cultivation and its influence on the yield specifically directed to the incidence of the cogollero worm and its response in the agronomic behavior of the plant and yield by applying two insecticides Emamectin Benzoate and Chlorpyrifos applied in different ways, among which are with the use of bait (sand), applied according to the economic damage Threshold, at 30 days and 45 days after sowing. Therefore, the randomized complete blocks design (DBCA) was applied with a 2 x 3 factorial arrangement, including a control to which no insecticide application was made to obtain the differences between the evaluated variables, the Tukey test was used at 95% probability evaluating the following variables height of the plant at harvest, incidence of S. frugiperda, foliar damage, percentage of population of the cogollero worm at 2 days, 4 days, 7 days and 13 days after application, ear weight, weight of 100 grains, plot weight in kg, yield estimate kg ha-1. Performed the respective tests it was obtained that the applications of insecticide products managed to reduce the incidence of the cogollero worm up to 13 days after the application, highlighting the application of the Economic Threshold of damages with applications of Emamectin Benzoate, for the case of performance the application of Chlorpyrifos In the economic damage Threshold, it registered the greatest weight with 7845.10 kg ha-1 and with a benefit / cost ratio (2.160) surpassed the other treatments with 116.0%. Keywords: Emamectin Benzoate, Chlorpyrifos, Cogollero worm, insecticides.
