Opis
Izvleček:This research project was to determine optimal areas for the establishment of solar and wind energy in the Los Rios province applying Geographic Information Systems, and by using the criteria: speed and wind direction, solar radiation, heliophany, slope, and land use; for purposes of achieving a diagnosis on the use of renewable and conventional energy, identifying areas with wind and solar potential, and determination of infrastructure costs for generating solar and wind energy was performed. The population sample was composed 384 citizens of Province Los Rios, to which was applied a survey questionnaire Likert consists of 10 items concerning the use of conventional and renewable sources of energy. The Ecuador wind Atlas was used. In the case of solar radiation, the solar Atlas of Ecuador was used; In addition, pre-existing cartographic information on slope levels and land uses will be used. To identify the discriminant items in the survey, the Minitab 15 software will be used, in which the Pearson correlation coefficient will be obtained. Student's t-distribution, and the Friedman test at 95% probability The processing of the climatological data will be carried out in the Microsoft Excel 2016 software, through the calculation of summations (∑) and monthly-annual averages (ẋ), and the filling of the missing data by the relationship method. Key words: Geographic information systems, solar energy, wind energy, optimal areas, Renewable Energy, Environmental diagnosis.
