الملخص:Pneumonia, an infectious disease of the respiratory system that affects the lungs, can be caused by various pathogens such as bacteria, viruses and fungi. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), this pathology constitutes one of the most serious health problems facing developing nations. Currently, pneumonia represents one of the main causes of morbidity and mortality in both children and adults. For this reason, the present case study focused on analyzing the factors that influence the evolution of the patient with bacterial pneumonia through available sources of information and bibliographic review, proposing nursing care activities. To carry out this case, which is based on a geriatric patient, an assessment methodology was implemented based on Marjory Gordon's functional patterns, identifying the main needs at the level of activity, exercise, metabolic nutrition, perceptual cognitive and adaptation to stress. Subsequently, nursing care plans were proposed using the NANDA, NOC and NIC taxonomies, focused on addressing the nursing diagnoses of ineffective respiratory pattern, unbalanced nutrition: less than the body's requirements, acute pain and anxiety, expecting optimal results through specific interventions.
