| Shrnutí: | The main objective of this work is to analyze the development of emotional intelligence to improve academic performance in first-year high school students of the "Unidad Educativa Quintiliano Sánchez Rendón" of the Buena Fe canton, school period 2021-2022. The methodology that was developed in the research was exploratory-descriptive with a qualitative-quantitative approach, bibliographic and field modality, through direct observation and application of surveys to 18 teachers and 160 students through a semi-structured questionnaire, in addition to a Interview with the directors of the Educational Unit. Among the main results, it was possible to identify that despite the fact that teachers know something about the development of emotional intelligence, they do not know how to apply it in the classroom through tactics that can be used in class for conflict management and emotion control, in Based on the students, they indicated that conflicts at home affect their school development, therefore, it is there that teachers must work on controlling emotions. This research concludes, based on the diagnosis of the relationship between emotional intelligence and student academic performance, that by applying the teacher training plan, it will allow students to be able to face conflict situations in their school life. |
