| Sumario: | The research was conducted at the Laboratory of Biotechnology of Quevedo State Technical University, in 2011, in order to determine the effect of different hormonal concentrations (NAA and IBA) on rooting of shoots from basal branches of mature trees Tectona grandis (teak). Auxin concentrations used for research were 0; 500; 1000; 1500 and 2000 mg kg-1 of NAA and IBA, using a completely randomized design with five treatments, four replications and four repeat units. We evaluated the number, root length, shoot length and survival at 30 and 60 days. In general, the best response was obtained at concentrations of 1000 mg kg-1 ANA + 1000 mg kg-1 of AIB in all variables. This research demonstrates that the use of auxins NAA and IBA was effective for the propagation of this species from tree buds rejuvenated adults, the same which has great economic and ecological importance. |
