Sumari:El Empalme is located northeast of the province of Guayas, geographical location is 01 ° 06 'south latitude and 79 ° 29 west longitude at a height of 73 meters. In the present investigation the inductive, deductive and analytical methods used. The source of research was the breeders' association Canton El Empalme consists of a total of 276 farmers as a representative sample of the area. The results were: Most producers has grown 46% pasture (Savoy); lesser extent is the Brachiarias (38%) and King Grass (15 %) which is well adapted to this area, all producers exploit dual-purpose cattle in greater proportion (80%) and meat (19%). Marketing livestock is done directly from the producer to intermediaries; which distribute them to local, tercenas and meat markets; through which reaches the final consumer. With regard to profitability the local market has higher returns with 54.74%, followed by the intermediaries which have 49.83% return and finally producers who obtained 44.27%. As a result of the production costs for food producers had the highest percentage with 40.68%, followed by direct labor with 21.35% and indirect labor with 13.79%; while for intermediaries direct labor had the highest percentage with 52.87%, followed by indirect labor with 29.02%; traders to the higher production costs were obtained from the direct labor with 37.03%, followed by maintenance vehicle with 17.24%
