| Gaia: | The research was conducted in three poultry farms located in the La manna Canton, Cotopaxi province, located to the South East of the province of Cotopaxi. The objectives were to: To know the technological level of the producers of chicken broilers in three poultry farms, to determine and compare costs and income in the production of chicken broilers in three poultry farms and to identify the marketing channels of chickens in each poultry farm broilers. 30 Research questions were considered for the achievement of the objectives proposed. Most of the producers have more than five years dedicated to avian activity and their main motivation is the income that this activity generates them. The poultry objects of study shows that they use various systems of biosafety, but with a purpose common to reduce threats from diseases and/or disease outbreaks, using husk of rice as a bed. They use lines of chicken, than by the experiences it is more easy to use and increased productivity. The most common disease that attacks the birds is coriza All studied poultry farmers are owners of their properties, have shown interest in receiving technical assistance and advice that allow them to improve their production. Poultry farmers in study have mostly between 1 and 4 sheds, feeders and watering troughs, often supplying water of well-built for the purpose. The higher expense for poultry farmers is the acquisition of chicks, following ire order of importance the field of food. The hand labour is relatively low. Income received by producers of three farms was calculated on the basis of the average production and the price average (1.58 cents dollars per kilo). The most efficient benefit/cost ratio was farm “Maria Elvira” with 2.53 follows the “Don Manuel” farm with 1.98 and finally “El pollo feliz” with 1.53 chicken farms. |
