| الملخص: | In the market a range of products based on seaweed are offered, which have shown multiple benefits for crops, however, these produce different effects on plants. The purpose of this research was to evaluate the response of the cultivation of habanero pepper (Capsicum chinense) to the application of three foliar fertilizers based on seaweed in the Guapara enclosure, Cotopaxi province. The experiment was carried out at the Carmencita estate, located in the Guapara enclosure of the Moraspungo parish in the Pangua canton. Three treatments (Ele-max, Algae Plus and Basfoliar algae) and one control were evaluated. A randomized complete block design with four repetitions was used. Data were recorded: plant height at 60 and 75 days, number of days to flowering and harvest, length, diameter and weight of the fruit, number of fruits per plant, yield per hectare and an economic analysis was performed. The results showed that Basfoliar algae (1.5 l/ha) shortened the time for flowering and harvesting of chili pepper in 5 days, also producing plants of greater height at 60 and 75 days with 46.30 and 55.85 cm, respectively. The length, diameter and weight of Habanero pepper fruits were greater when applying Basfoliar algae (1.5 l/ha), exceeding the control in 1.20 cm, 0.75 cm and 4.23 g, compared to the control (3.45 cm, 1.63 cm and 5.75 g), respectively. The production of fruits per plant was higher when applying Basfoliar algae with 54.00 fruits, which produced a yield of 41721.19 kg/ha, while the control produced 15664.06 kg/ha. The profitability obtained per unit area was higher when applying Basfoliar algae (1.5 l/ha) amounting to 155.88%. These results suggest that Basfoliar algae (1.5 l/ha) allows to obtain fruits with better characteristics of length, diameter and weight, as well as better production per plant, which contribute to a higher level of yield, in less time by shortening the time to flowering and harvest.
