INCLUSIÓN DE HARINA DE YUCA (Manihot esculenta) EN LA DIETA DE ALEVINES DE TILAPIA ROJA (Oreochromis mossambicus)

The present investigation was carried out in the aquaculture program of the “La María” UTEQ University Campus, with a duration of 56 days, determining the productive and economic parameters. Through which the objective of the present investigation was to evaluate the levels of cassava flour (Manihot esculenta) in the diet of red tilapia fingerlings (Oreochromis mossambicus). Using a completely randomized design (DCA) with four treatments and 5 repetitions with a total of 400 fish, they were divided into 80 fish per treatment, 20 per repetition, each treatment consisted of the inclusion of cassava flour at 0%, 5%, 10% and 15% in the diet, with the treatment that presented the highest parameters being T3 (15% inclusion of cassava flour), with initial weight (6.57 g), final weight (40.57 g), weight gain (6.08 g ), feed consumption (32.45 g), absolute growth rate (0.89 g/day), specific growth rate (1.00%), total biomass (811.35 g), feed conversion (2.5 g) and a survival rate of 100 %, obtaining a profit of 389.21 and savings of 229.31 dollars. Using 15% of cassava flour in the commercial balance, higher averages were obtained in the production parameters, and this level could be adapted to the feeding system of fish in intensive farming. This treatment being more effective, more palatable and more profitable.
