Diseño de una guía de plantas ornamentales de la finca experimental “La Represa” de la Universidad Técnica Estatal de Quevedo

This research was conducted with the objective of designing a Guide to Ornamental Plants for the Experimental Farm "Dam" State Technical University of Quevedo, Quevedo Canton, Los Ríos Province. This thesis was framed in descriptive research, field and literature, deductive method, inductive method and the analytical method was used, using these methodologies, also observing several matters were handled various materials including direct observation; and camera to capture images of plants for botanical description; To fulfill the objectives, several field trips in which the presence of existing plants in the nursery and observed wildlife were made, which by their characteristics (root, stem, leaves, flowers) can be given each plant, either ornamental, medicinal or comestible, this performed by the observation technique. species of interest located in the area were collected, a guide to ornamental plants, in which the main characteristics of the collected species are described and applications that can be assigned according to the new trends in gardening, landscaping and ornamentation was designed . The following conclusions were obtained; A total of 40 species of plants in the nursery 25 existing and 13 were inventoried in the wild. The collected plants were managed according to the technique of pressing plants, for sample preparation, which were destined for safekeeping in the herbarium of the Faculty of Environmental Sciences. Besides a floristic guide existing Ornamental plants designed in the "La Represa" with the aim that tourists will make it easier to recognize the different species of plants in the nursery of the Experience Farm "Dam".
