Sammanfattning:Given the concern of environmental pollution and problems that agriculture triggers and the misuse or neglect when using pesticides or chemicals, it was considered to carry out a project that generates or reduces the environmental impact without affecting the economy and its inhabitants, implementing the creation and elaboration of a hydroponic garden that provides positive externalities even in the health of the citizens. The purpose of the research is to mitigate environmental pollution and promote food sovereignty through the creation of a hydroponic garden with the citizens of the “La Judith” Lotization of the urban parish San Cristóbal of the Quevedo canton, located at km 2 ½ of Quevedo-Valencia road, a total of 705 inhabitants was surveyed, of which 25 inhabitants agreed to be part of the project. An NFT system was used, with a structure of tubes and other PVC materials based on the recirculation of water through hoses and the nutritive substance by means of a pump, the use of land was replaced by a substrate or natural environment (shell of rice), its structure is vertical. Two varieties of oak leaf lettuce and smooth Escarole were grown. The methodology used allowed the interpretation of data obtained and collected from the applied surveys and evaluation; Through direct observation it was possible to appreciate the study of the cultivation, commitment and skills acquired from the families, obtaining the expected results that allowed improvements in the food condition of the inhabitants, benefiting their health, occupying little space and helping to reduce expenses and increased the economy of citizens. Currently, there is no regulation that regulates hydroponic crops in Ecuador within MAGAP, however, the legislation that governs the acquisition of seed, decreed by it, was considered.
